Role
The Communications Director will help lead the creative team and foster the development of team members, focusing on communication strategies and overseeing various communication channels. A key aspect of this role involves managing communications and media projects, which includes setting timelines, strategizing, coordinating with different ministries, and providing leadership to the team. Responsibilities include direct management of social media, email, web, and app channels, as well as organizing photography and video for the church. The goal is to ensure that effective communication supports and enhances the ministries of True Hope Church.
The Communications Director will aim to:
Tell the story of what God is doing in and through True Hope.
Contribute to the discipleship and formation of the church community through digital and in-person channels.
Use a values-based approach to invite the congregation to engage in church activities and gatherings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Call to Ministry
Personal calling to vocational ministry in the local church.
At the current time credentials are not necessary but a definite plus. As True Hope Church grows this role might be directed to receive credentials.
Leadership
Provide leadership and vision to the Creative Department.
Skills in planning, forward thinking, storyboarding, and communication calendars.
Ability to write scripts, cast clear vision, and lead people in storytelling.
Communication & Strategy
Lead and collaborate with creative staff and team members.
Develop and provide leadership to creative team members specializing in photography, video production, graphic design, social media, etc.
Create communication strategies and timelines to support church ministries and gatherings, utilizing social media, email, web, app, and in-person channels.
Develop marketing strategies and campaigns for specific initiatives.
Lead quarterly calendar planning meetings.
Social Media
Manage and administer Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels.
Create and curate content for social platforms.
Adapt existing content for social platforms, including sermon clips and announcement graphics.
Assemble and distribute the True Hope Weekly email.
Develop one-off email campaigns for special events or initiatives.
Website & App
Maintain and update website and app content.
Collaborate with the other ministry leads for their specific pages.
Manage and promote events.
Creative
Assist in graphic design, motion graphics, video filming and editing, and photography.
General Overview of Weekly Schedule:
Sunday
Creating Sunday specific media for posting on stories and socials
Distribute the selected sermon by 2:00PM
Update online Metrics
Monday
Regular Monday meetings
Work with the team on upcoming announcements
Post sermon recap
Design, plan, and schedule social media posts (Beyond Sunday focused)
Tuesday
All Staff/Staff Chapel
Film and edit True Hope News
Wednesday
Catch up on projects needing completion
Social, Web, App
Create and schedule True Hope Weekly
Thursday
Publish upcoming TH events
Service run through (slides and news review)

Preferred Position Qualifications
Experience in a communications or marketing role, preferably in a church or non-profit setting.
Deep familiarity with church ministry and communications, ideally from a ministry role.
Strong team and leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams, collaborate effectively, and foster a healthy culture among staff and team members.
Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and website/app management.
Familiarity with creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
Strong skills in photo capture and editing, with experience in video capture and motion graphics.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
A heart for ministry and alignment with True Hope’s mission, vision, and values.
Minimum True Hope Staff Requirements
Theologically agree with True Hope Church beliefs.
Actively involved in a Community Group.
Be in alignment with True Hope’s views on giving, and tithing. We believe and practice the 10% tithe of income to True Hope Church.
Loyal to the leadership, vision, and staff of True Hope Church, always protecting the unity of the church.
Passion for the people and kingdom of God.
Ability to respond to all concerns in a timely manner either from members, staff, or team.
Invest substantial time into developing and growing in a personal walk with Christ.
Philosophically articulate, model and guard True Hope Church culture.
Leadership, team building, and self-motivation skills.
Maintain God ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children third, and the ministry fourth.
Invest in and invite the lost to know Jesus and come to True Hope Church.
